Entry Requirements/Pathways

No formal hurdles to jump through here! You just need solid communication skills and basic computer know-how (think email, web browsing, and word processing). We’ll have a friendly chat during your interview to make sure this course is the right fit for your goals and to explore Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) options.

Computer Hardware and Software Requirements

To get started, you’ll need a computer with Windows 7+ or macOS 10.6+, 2GB RAM, 2GB free disk space, a 2.0 GHz processor, 1024×768 resolution monitor, ADSL1 internet (1.5Mbps), a valid email, speakers/microphone, Adobe Reader, and software like Microsoft Office and an up-to-date browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox).

Student Selection

We’re all about finding the right fit for you. In a personal interview, we’ll chat about your career goals, explore RPL or credit transfer options, identify any support you might need, and walk you through key policies like privacy, payments, and how we handle grievances.

Articulation Pathways from the Qualification

Once you complete this course, you’re set to level up! You can pursue advanced qualifications like the Diploma of Work Health and Safety or Diploma of Business. Plus, our pathways make university entry easier, potentially giving you up to a year of credit toward a degree.

Gaining University Entrance

Dreaming of a university degree? A GEM Certificate IV or Diploma could give you 6-12 months of credit, and some Advanced Diplomas offer even more. You’ll gain practical skills to shine in the workplace while fast-tracking your academic journey.

  • You can pick both units from Group A or Group B for a perfect fit.
  • Not finding what you need? Choose one or both units from any currently endorsed Training Package qualification or accredited course at Certificate IV level.
  • If you select one imported unit from outside Group A or B, it must be at Certificate IV level.
  • For a second imported unit, you can choose from Certificate III or Diploma level.
  • All units must be relevant to your work environment, align with the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), and support a valid, industry-recognized outcome.

Delivery Modes

Online and Blended Delivery

Learn at your own pace with our GEM Online Campus, complete with interactive guides, or go for our blended option with face-to-face intensives and online seminars. Plan for 1,200–2,400 hours over 12–24 months (about 10 hours a week), including hands-on, work-based activities.

Fees and Funding

Your investment is $2,570, covering all materials, with options to make it affordable.

State Assistance

Payment Plans

Start with a $500 deposit and spread the rest over 10 equal monthly payments. We won’t ask for more than $1,500 upfront without a chat with our course advisor.

Your tuition includes access to GEM Online Campus, interactive Onscreen Guides, Learner and Assessment Guides (PDF), and all essential materials. Want more resources? Additional ones are available for a small fee.

Show what you’ve learned with practical, portfolio-based assessments designed for you.

Assessment and RPL

Your assessments are tied to each unit’s goals, and we’ll give you at least a week’s notice. You can submit portfolios or join face-to-face assessments. Got prior experience? Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or credit transfers can speed things up—reach out to our Quality Control Officer at stephen.short@gem-college.com for exemptions.

Reasonable Adjustment

If something’s making assessments tricky, let’s talk! Your Tutor can arrange adjustments like extra time or support, while keeping the core requirements the same.
