Study Schedule
STUDY SCHEDULE
GEM College of International Business delivers training to individuals and industry on an “as needs basis”. Thus, enrolment may be:
- Unit by Unit
- in a nationally recognised Skill Set comprised of several Units
- as a full qualification
For this reason we do not normally divide the year into terms or semesters, as government RTOs, Secondary Schools, Colleges and Higher Education institutions do.
We do, however, recognise that some learners may prefer to have term or semester breaks – and these are outlined in the training calendar.
Through the GEM College Online Campus, we are able to provide you with any of our education and training programs 24/7/365. You can access any time, from any location and via any screen.
Learners with prior learning or current competencies may apply to have their study time shortened, through a formal Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process.
You may enjoy our Intensives (face-to-face or Virtual) where you can meet with peers, under the guidance of an experienced professional educator. Intensives offer a forum for you to meet with professional peers from different industry sectors where you can share your experiences and glean from the expertise of others. The forum is relaxed enough to build relationships, and tight enough to ensure your valuable time is not wasted.
Intensives – face to face and/or online. Arranged by demand addressing specialist domains, facilitated by professional specialists. | ||
Morning Intensives | 9.00am – 1.00pm | Project Management |
Afternoon Intensives | 2.00pm – 6.00pm | Human Resources and Wellbeing |
Training Programs | 6.00pm – 9.00pm | Human Resources and Wellbeing |
We are Learner-Centric, and to accommodate YOU, the Learner, we operate on a “rolling schedule” – so you can fit your professional development, study and career progression into your own mobile, transient lifestyle with all your other commitments.
Examinations
There are no examinations in any of the vocational training programs offered by GEM College of International Business. Built on competency based training, all assessment is based on (1) Knowledge; (2) Skills; and (3) Attitude; and will be assessed against the performance criteria stated within the government endorsed Training Packages and built into unique Assessment Tasks mapped into our Assessment Guides and Learner Guides.
We don’t believe “one size fits all” and so all assessment tasks are tailored to YOU, to your job in your workplace, your career, or your entrepreneurial undertaking.
Assessments include on-and off-the-job components, and assessment only happens when YOU are ready. Thus, there are no surprises and no need for last minute cramming.
Course Approval
All of the qualifications listed on this website are nationally recognised under the Australian Skills Quality Authority, and have been approved by the Australian Federal Government and are thus recognised in most countries around the world. GEM College of International Business is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO National Code 0366), and is registered with Australian Skills Quality Authority to train, assess and issue qualifications based on National Competency Standards.
As a Registered Training Organisation, GEM College of International Business is able to offer Australian qualifications to learners anywhere in the world, and to license GEM campuses to operate in other jurisdictions.
