No formal entry requirements apply to this qualification. However, it is recommended that candidates have literacy and numeracy competencies equivalent to Year 10 or above, and some workplace experience in a supervisory or operational role is beneficial.

To achieve this qualification, you must complete 10 units: 5 core units and 5 elective units. We’ve made it super simple to customize your learning journey with these steps!

  • Start with the Core: You’ll complete 5 core units that set the foundation for Work Health and Safety.
  • Pick Your Electives: Choose 5 elective units, with 3 units from Group A. The remaining 2 units may be selected from Group A, Group B, or any currently endorsed Training Package qualification or accredited course at the same AQF level, with 1 unit potentially from a Certificate III or Diploma.
  • Add Some Flexibility: For the 2 elective units, you can select from the lists in the ‘Elective Details’ section or explore any AQF Level 4 or above units from other accredited courses that fit your work environment.
  • Keep It Relevant: Make sure your choices align with your career goals and AQF standards for a solid, industry-ready outcome.

Delivery Modes

  • Each unit includes practical activities to enable you to develop and contextualise your knowledge and skills.
  • Your tutor will give you a heads-up to enable you to prepare—no surprise assessments!
  • Submit your portfolio before or bring it to the assessment.
  • For face-to-face assessments, attendance is key—if you’re unwell, just let us know to reschedule.
